This Case Logic Nylon CDW208-Disc Wallet (Holds 224CD/DVD) is a good, solid storage device. It is pretty standard wallet, with space for 208 CDs or DVDs divided into 26 pages of sleeves, plus space for an additional 16 CDs inside the front cover. Although it is a tight squeeze, it is possible to fit both the CD and the booklet or liner notes into the same sleeve. The pages are held in place in a ring-binder type arrangement, so it is possible to unlock them and take individual pages out of the case, if you want to remove them for travel.

The sleeves are well padded, so your discs shouldn't get scratched. The top, bottom, and binding of the case are solid, and leave the contents well protected. I've had my case a few months and haven't had any significant wear or tear- the zipper seems to hold up well, too.

Obviously, when full of 200+ discs, the case can get pretty heavy, and isnt going to be something that you want to take on a 3 hour trip. But if you move around a lot, or are looking for some long-term storage that will cut down on the bulkiness of your DVD cases, this is a good buy. I bought mine because I was moving from the US to Europe and wanted a way to transport and store my music and movie collection without all the extra packaging- and I've been satisfied.

Rugged Ridge 11580.10 Rear Hitch-Bought for my 2011 Wrangler. It was a lot cheaper than OEM. I bought it so that I could attach a cargo basket to the back.

Heavy duty and I understand that it is exactly the same as OEM. It fits pretty easily on a JK Wrangler, just 4 bolts which go through existing holes in the frame. There is not much room to work though. I took off the four bolts holding on the rear bumper and pulled the bumper away from the vehicle by an inch or two. It made all of the difference and I managed to tighten the four bolts really easily.

I'll skip the description as I'd just be repeating what he wrote, except to say that mine (ordered from 'Gotlux?') did in fact come with two antennas as well, so don't let the image or lack of description throw you.

Getting the antennas up behind the LCD was a bit of a bear, as I decided to wing it sans manual, but now I am sitting in my living room with a signal pretty much comparable to what I was getting previously with a Cardbus wireless adapter.

The product arrived within a few days of my order. The guard looks great on my jeep. The only problem with this guard is the directions to put it on. They were not helpful at all. We had to buy extra parts to secure the guard to the jeep and also had to cut holes in the mud guards. It was difficult and a 3 hour task to put the guard on. However, it looks awesome now that it is on!! Recommend a 'handy' man to help put the guard on!!

The filter fit my 2005 Acura TSX without any issue and was rapidly installed following the included instructions. The filter I replaced was absolutely disgusting and a noticeable improvement in air quality was achieved immediately upon firing up the A/C with this new filter. There is a subtle aroma of baking soda that I find pleasing. There would seem to be no reason to pay 3x more for the OEM filter.

Filter is of quality materials and fits as does OEM product. Downfall is that I did not notice any "FRESH BREEZE" SCENT at all. NONE. I can tell there is charcoal for a good filtering of the air, but it smells nuetral like any other filter. The cost was much better than retail OEM and auto store prices as long as shipping costs are watched closely or product is offered free S/H. Products winning edge is the price not quality of scent compared to other filters.

Unlike most cabin air filters, the Fresh Breeze is impregnated with carbon and baking soda to reduce odors. It is hard to tell how much difference it makes, but the price is lower than for competing name brands. Physically the filter seems to be well constructed. I don't have a fancy laboratory to do any in-depth testing, but what mortal does?

Amazon's application fitment guide for this part is messed up. I know for a fact this size fits a 2003 Honda Accord and a 2006 Acura TSX, even though Amazon says it doesn't. Check the fram.com website to get the correct number for your vehicle.

This is a Fram # CF10134 - Using Google the number FCF10134 only shows up linked to this Amazon listing... not at Fram! Go to the Fram site for models this filter fits... the parts look-up [under "Make sure it fits"] is also wrong!

Fram lists the CF10134 for Civics, 2006. 2007, 2008 etc., yet "Make sure it fits" said the filter would not work - it did not list any Fram cabin air filters for the 2007 Civic. Ordered the filter based on Fram's site, and indeed received a CF10134. It fit without problems, taking about 2 minutes to replace, & that includes walking out to the car... Google for pictures if you want to make sure you can handle it before ordering. Instructions are included with the filter, but they are *only* for an Accord - while the procedure was identical on the 2007 Civic, I have no idea if it's the same for all Hondas.

Amazon's service was great, as always, & the price was very fair... The filter's just a simple paper filter - how long it'll last depends on how dirty the air is where you drive - so really can't say this filter is better or worse than brand X... I like Fram, & the charcoal coating they add eliminates some of the oders in the air outside the car.

This filter appears to be better constructed and with more carbon than the Honda OEM filter I replaced. I think one could argue that the need to regularly replace the air cabin filter is limited though vehicles that operate in a lot of dust might very well need the filter to be at least vacuumed every once in a while to maintain sufficient airflow. Certainly having a filter is better than not having one at all but my experience suggests that changing the cabin air filter is one of those extremely profitable dealer maintenance items: my local Honda dealer pegged the price at $99 for our Odyssey!! Far better in this case: buy the appropriate filter online, look up the replacement instructions for your vehicle online (many helpful people post pictures and/or videos), and save yourself a bunch of money and the time at the dealer (it was a 5 minute max chore). I bought two and figure this should do me for about 100k miles.

I considered rating it a 5 but reserve that for seeing how it holds up in use.

This is a great product. Very well indeed. Be prepared for the mouthpiece to break. It is a fragile plastic straw with a number 10 thread (undersized for any easy purchase threaded pipe). There is quite the catch built-in. The threaded straw is VERY expensive. They must think that because you were willing to overpay for a good product, maybe you will overpay repeatedly for a poor product. If, however, you are imaginative and handy, you will produce a solution. If not, then doNot purchase the will-break product.

Extremely expensive considering it's basically a glorified soldering iron with a thermostat built in so it doesn't get too hot.

Like everyone else, the mouthpiece broke off the day I bought it. It's made of some super-fragile plastic that cannot withstand any kind of stress whatsoever. And the filter clogs... EVERY TIME. FYI: I use a small brush that came with a hair-clipper and it unclogs it very well!

Also, it will often refuse to turn on because the gas flow is inconsistent... you have to wait until you hear the gas pretty loud and then you can press the button to start it up. Note: it doesn't matter how full the butane chamber is... the gas flow is inconsistent even with a full tank.

This is my second vaporizor and it can't even be fairly compared to my first, forced-air Vapir One. The freedom and joy of portability cannot be overstated. I'm using around the house, outdoors...everywhere. Very compact, very discreet. I can't wait to use it at the beach this summer.

I haven't had ANY of the problems I've read in other reviews. The mouthpiece must have been redesigned (mine has the metal threads) since it hasn't broken. But I do treat my Iolite well; I don't put it in my pocket, I keep it clean and I keep it in the included case whenever I'm not using it. I haven't had any problem with starting, either. One click is all I've ever needed. (I'm using "Power" brand butane.) And one fill-up of butane lasts about a week of daily (but not constant) use.

I haven't seen anyone else comment on the included "condenser" which can be inserted into the mouthpiece. It helps if you're vaporizing moist herb since the hot water vapor can be a little hard on the throat. If your herb is dry, you can take it out. And if your herb is moist, you have to clean the chamber, screen and mouthpiece a little more often. But they give you tools for this and it's not very hard (or very time consuming).

I love Amazon, but I didn't buy my Iolite thru Amazon. To be honest, I didn't even think to look here for vaporizers. But now that medical marijuana is available in 14 states, and vaporizing is so much easier on the mouth, throat and lungs than smoking, I'm sure that vaporizers will become more mainstream. And as they do, I'm sure the technology will just continue to get better and better. But in the meantime, I don't think you can beat this one.

I got these S-Biners in several sizes to try them out for different uses. Truth is, I'd never seen this design before I stumbled upon them in Amazon (I don't camp, climb, etc.), and immediately saw how well thought out and potentially useful they could be. One of them, the #3, holds my GPS travel recorder (for photographic geotagging) to my belt loop. The #2 works great for my cell phone carrying case; the #4 for my water bottle. And on and on it goes: the uses for S-Biners seem to be endless. They seem to be well made -- I have them in black and stainless -- and, although the clip mechanism isn't hard, nothing has yet slipped off. These little biners have become an essential part of my kit, and I won't travel without them.

There are endless uses for them and they have held up to lots of use on my dive gear. They have only a few small rust stains in spite of frequent use in sea water. There is no sign of the metal deteriorating or flaking off just a few small brown spots. This is far better than most caribiners that seize up after a few months of use on my dive gear. They open easily which is good for my purposes but others have complained that they come open in pockets so it is something to consider.

i have a 10 inch telescope that i need to move up and down three flights of stairs. i use the cardboard box that it came in to carry it. id like to make a custom plastic box with foam but that is too expensive, so i decided to upgrade the cardboard box. i bought these to make the handles. make a loop out of the strap using the metal connector, set the box on the on the loop and lift up on the sides. a little duct tape and my box is much easier on the back to carry.

as far as the straps go, they work and they are relatively cheap. now you need to find a reason to use them.

I got this to replace a broken strap on a Thule cartop carrier. It goes through the loops on the carrier, across the top and around the roof rack then back over around the rack on first side. The buckle seems strong, and it's easy to use. I drove 2500 miles with it in different kinds of weather. It works great. It comes with a spare for when the other Thule strap breaks.

I purchased this product to hold my computer in a desk-side mount for an IKEA Jerker computer table. The strap that came with the IKEA computer holder was, to put it mildly, pathetic.

The Master Lock strap holds the unit firmly in place without any loosening due to stretching in the fabric. In addition, the buckle hasn't allowed any slippage, even after holding the thing for a couple months.

It was simple to cut the strap to length using regular household scissors and to burn the end with a lighter to prevent fraying. Best of all, you get two straps for a pretty reasonable price.

I have been using one of these for the past few months to attach my camera to my dive gear. I love that it is so thin and will fit where a regular biner won't. The double gate allows you to remove one thing without removing the thing it is clipped to. It has had heavy use in seawater with only a passing dunk in fresh water for a few months (I spend several days a week underwater)and it is still working great. There are a few rust spots (somall discolored spots, no flaking metal) here and there that might be avoidable if I took better care of it but at this price I can accept replacing it every now and then. I liked it so much in this application that I got this smaller size for other uses. I read in other reviews that some are having trouble with the gate opening and that it should have more tension to keep it from opening accidentally. I can understand that and it might be an improvement they can make without adding weight or bulk. In situations where it is not going to be squished in a pocket or purse I think you won't have this problem though and can whole heartedly recommend these!

I like this clip better than a regular carabiner type clip. It is much smaller in person than the picture on Amazon makes it look. I'd say it's about an inch and a half to two inches long. I was surprised about how small it was, but I actually decided I liked how small it was after I started using it on my keychain. My only complaint is that it seems to fall off and disappear. I had the clip on my keys so I could clip them to my purse or pants or whatever was handy to clip them to. After a few months of use, the clip had disappeared from my keychain. I looked and looked and couldn't find it. I figured it was a fluke, and was glad to have a second clip. I put the second clip on my keys, and within another few months, it disappeared again and I could not find it. Seems like a problem with the clip that they fall off. Other than that, great clip, but too expensive to buy a set of two every six months.

I am feeling pretty good right now. Why? Because I am about to save hundreds of people the misery of losing their keys, favorite pocket knife, flashlight, thumb drive, etc... I have owned and used both the size 1 and 2 "S-biner"s on my keychain and they consistently (I was going to be ironic and say 'reliably') release/drop whatever is attached to them. I carry my keys in my pocket and have repeatedly found, on the ground, my $50 LED flashlight, 8GB USB drive, house keys, etc. I kept switching what I used the S-biner to hold thinking that it must be good for something because it is so cool. I even switched from size 1 to size 2. Finally after having that sick feeling of finding something I needed or that has value or was brand new on the floor about to be left and lost forever I gave up on this product. I give two stars because these actually are very nice, just not useful outside the safety of your home.

There is really nothing wrong with this item. It shipped in a timely manner and was designed as advertised. The bigger issue is that using this is like trying to herd cats. Perhaps the problem is that long bed trucks are not designed to accept all the hooks on the cargo net. I ended up running a stringer around the base of the truck bed and hooking the cargo net to the stringer. It worked but it was messy.

This truck net comes with 20 -- yes 20 -- hooks that can be attached to the bungee cords anywhere making the net very flexible. This hooks snap onto the bungee cords very snugly and then hook easily to the lip of the truck bed wherever needed. When you cover your cargo with a tarp, you can cover the tarp with the net and you don't have to worry about the tarp coming loose. If you have light weight items, tying them down isn't as much of an issue because this net will hold them in place just fine. I have used mine for 3 years now and wouldn't know what to do without it.

I bought this set on a GoldBox deal of the day. The price wasn't bad and I figured I don't know when I may need some of the various length cords. The only complaint I have with this set is the packaging. Once you take a cable out it's pretty hard to get everything back into the canister. I did it one time and the past time I needed a cable I sort of shoved them all back in the canister without the lid on them. As for quality? I haven't used all the cables nor bought any bungee cables before, so from a visual inspection these seem to be good quality.

If the description said they're plastic hooks, I still would have purchased them and since they would then meet the description, I would then give 5 stars. Also, I agree with others about them being tightly packed, a canvas bag would make for better storage. Even with plastic hooks, they are a good value.

This is an incredibly cool product. I was looking for an inexpensive rack for my car, and stumbled across this one. It attaches very easily to the car, and assuming you read the instructions, it is very easy to remove as well. Certainly much easier than any other rack out there. The magnetic base holds quite strongly to the car roof. I had no concerns about highway speed. Putting skis in is nor harder than other racks I've used. Also, I didn't hear any particular wind noise coming from the rack

The only downside is that it only carries 2 pairs of skis. The base is too large to safely have 2 sets on top of a car.

To store the rack, you just stick the magnets together with a sheet of plastic inbetween that they provide then put the whole thing in a bag. Forgetting the plastic WILL make it difficult to pull them apart.

This product appears to be well designed. However, when you get it you find that there are numerous (21 to be exact) warnings and cautions not mentioned online. Some are obvious but others severely limit its use. Max speed (55 mph on the box, 65 mph in the instructions)and cannot be used with sun roof are two biggies. I had used one of these racks when I rented a care in Salt Lake City going to Park City to ski. I had preordered a ski rack, but when I picked up the car no rack. I complained to the rental clerk who said, "no problem" and called someone to install a rack. I figured this would take awhile and was annoyed, but I went out to the car 5 mins later and there were these two magnetic racks that worked perfectly for the trip. Finally I bought my own for my new Infinity EX35 for which there is no aftermarket bolt on rack, went to Mammoth from LA with my skis and poles on top with no problems. The racks even have locks which help prevent them from being removed with skis in them and they take about 30 secs to mount on the car. If you only need to transport skis and poles and not bikes, kayaks, nuclear weapons, etc. these are perfect.

I bought this snowboard rack after much research and deliberation online. I have not yet used it for a snowboarding trip (perhaps I will update this review later).

But I can tell you I am pleased with the design & function. The rack pulls out horizontally over the side of the vehicle allowing easier access to the rack's contents.I was concerned that the sliding hinge would freeze up during winter. I have been driving with is on for a month or so and test it regularly. I believe the sliding hinge will not be a problem.
ONE MAIN QUESTION that I could barely find an answer for online is how the rack actually holds 4 snowboards (what the orientation would be). The rack is wide enough for only two boards side by side; therefore, the second pair of snowboards must face bindings down underneath the other snowboards (so that the snowboard's base is touching the base of the board above it). I wondered if the bindings of the lower set might not quite clear the roof's surface. I was right. While the bindings to fit (barely in some cases) I would be worried about binding straps scratching my roof when you pull the thule rack out or a driving on long trips while the binding straps are free to fly in the wind. The solution for this is to put the boards with higher bindings on top. For long trips I plan to jury rig some duck cloth atop my roof so the bindings don't hang down & stratch my roof.

I'm fairly pleased with this cargo bar. It works as intended - one thing I didn't think about and am not sure if other bars do this... Sideways movement - yes it held my cargo up against the wall of the truck bed but, the box slid from side to side - I didn't think to angle it or anything. Angling probably would fix that - some bars probably have a cross bar for this - something to think about. Also - don't get your fingers pinched in the ratcheting mechanism - I can easily see that happening.

This bar fits my Dodge Ram 1500 fine and seems to have plenty of strength. It even held our new washer in place when I brought it home. My only possible complaint is the ratcheting mechanism is, well, pinchy. I have already pinched my fingers in it several times and have only owned it for about 3 weeks. My advice is to just be careful or wear gloves while adjusting it.

I`ve owned cargo bars in the past but they were threaded and difficult to extend constently. This is the first ratcheting cargo bar that I have had and I recomend it highly very easy to adjust and the ratchet action makes it very easy to use.

When extended to the width of a full-size bed, the bar's strength is greatly reduced. The ratcheting mechanism is very rough and requires some sort of ritual sacrifice in order to make it work properly. I do not recommend this cargo bar.

What a great high quality ladder for your truck. Just added it to my 2005 Tundra Double Cab. Highest end quality, I've seen. It a Westin brand, that's why. Was easy to mount took about 5 minutes. I have a bedliner with tailgate liner and had to use longer self drilling metal screws then what came with the ladder. Not a big deal since I already had the self drilling screws in my garage. If you do not have a plastic tailgate liner the screws that came with it are fine. Even though the screws are self drilling it is easier to drill a small pilot hole first. If you need a longer screw and do not have them , just take the factory screw to Menards, Lowes, Etc. and find a metal self screwing screw a 1/2 inch longer then the screws it comes with. Paid $113 total with free shipping from the best price on the internet in Nov. 09- AMAZON. I had another Tundra with a tailgate ladder that mounted on the side of the Tailgate and it was around $50 and was really nice but this was well worth the extra cost and it folds and has a latch to keep the ladder in the closed position when not in use. Again it's a Westin and quality is bare none............Also when mounting take in account were you place it if you have a Tonneau cover and the full action of the ladder in the opened position. I have a Trexedo Soft Roll up Tonneau Cpover and had to raise the Tonneau velcro track just a little bit to get everything just right. Easy to do but check during your install if it applies.

My truck is a Dodge Ram 2500 4WD with a very high bed. I usually got into the bed by climbing on one of the tires but when I added a cover, that was impossible. I used a step stool at the tailgate for a while but that was a hassle. The Truck-Pal solved the problem. It is sturdy and easy to mount with only a driver drill. I mounted it to the side so I could hold on to the cover while climbing the steps. Works great!

We used the bag for our 180 mile trip over Christmas. Temperatures were below freezing the full duration of the trip. The first time I tried to open the bag at our destination one of the zipper pull tabs broke, and the last remaining pull broke while trying to reclose the bag. Even after I was as carefull as possible to align the zippers and use minimal force to close the zipper, the bag was simply too stiff to allow the zipper to properly close. The bag didn't even make it through one trip. Very disappointing and frustrating. I do not recommend this bag to anyone.

We just got this bag and have not used it yet. We spent as much time trying to find out the size as we did looking for one. The size is 36x36x18. It seems to be made well. Will up-date this after our trip.
UPDATE: We have now returned from our trip and this bag was great. The zipper was a little hard to unzip and zip when it was cold but no problems in the hot weather. We even went to one of those car washes were you do it yourself to wash all the desert dust off and nothing got wet. We did have to buy a roof mat to put under it to make sure it did not scratch the roof or slide around. Very pleased with it. Comes with a nice storage bag, easy to get the bag back inside. Roof mat fit in it also. We ran a nylon rope through a couple of tent poles to get the bag to attach to the front and back (we only have side rails) worked perfect even at 75mph. Are trip was 2281 miles long.

We purchased this carrier because our current carrier, a hitch-based carrier on the rear of the car, put too much weight on the rear of the vehicle, making it hard to steer in wet or icy conditions.

The bag is made of VERY heavy vinyl-type fabric. So heavy in fact that it is hard to open, close, and zip. But once you get it worked out (I brought it inside to warm it up, which helped a lot) it is a nice accessory.

The straps were easy to lace through the eyelets, and although it was not detailed in the instructions how to lace them through, I was able to work it out in no time. Instructions could have been clearer.

The zippers are very heavy duty, but because the fabric is so heavy they are difficult to open or close. I believe this is a function of the fabric being water resistant. I found myself trying to stretch the creases / folds out of the fabric in order to pull the zipper. Even a TINY crease will prevent the zipper from moving as the fabric is so stiff.

The zipper is covered by a large flap on the bottom that velcros to a large flap above the zipper, essentially creating a seal that I really can't imagine ever leaking (unless you put the bag on backwards, with the zipper facing forward instead of backwards). We never went through rain but we went through snow with no issues of leakage.

There was NO flapping or moving about while we were underway. The eight way staps held tight and held everything securely, without putting stress on the bag itself since it covered the bag like a net as opposed to tying to the bag.

Last of all, it held about 100 pounds of clothes and gear without any stress or strain. The van was much more manageable with the weight being put in the middle of the car instead of on the hitch. Very handy in the snowy conditions in which we were navigating.

Of course it was much less convenient than the hitch mounted unit (hard to reach), but there are tradeoffs with everything (we spent $500 on our "Cargo Carrier" for our hitch).

Hard to beat for $50!

My only real complaint is the stiffness of opening and closing the zipper. I wish they had put straps on the zippers, and I'll probably find some and do it myself.

Used this product on a 1900 mile trip to Mexico. It worked very well and is very high quality. As another reviewer noted, it is smaller than I would expect as standard cargo carriers are 60" wide and this carrier is only 48" wide...but both are rated at 11.5 cu ft.? If I were to do it over, I'd try one that is 60" wide. One caution to be aware, the exhaust pipe on my vehicle was near the bottom of the carrier and it produced enough heat to slightly melt the bag and completely melted through one of the strap tie downs. I encountered no weather other than 105 degree temperatures but expect it would remain dry if exposed to rain. It is durable and well constructed.

I recently purchased the ROLA 59102 for carrying camping supplies across the northwest. I have a jeep and needed something to haul firewood, tents, etc and this did the job. For remote car camp sites, this keeps your gear free of dust and water.

I decided on this one because of the reviews and the fact that this one is water proof. Other bags similarly priced are just water resistant. On a camping trip to remote site in the Olympics last week I carried enough fire wood for 3 nights, and some extra gear. We drove through rain, mud, and sitting out for 3 days and still no moisture on the inside.

For a carrier, I have the Lund 601010 which is also available from Amazon. Great combo, wish I would have had this a long time ago.

Bought this for a recent trip of about 1000 miles round trip and it was just what we wanted. Well, I suppose it could be just a bit larger but such is life. The liner/casing is very sturdy - it displayed no wear from the trip. The zippers are beefy and they withstood a lot of yanking around. Also, when I tossed it on the Lund 20x60 hitch carrier (also bought on Amazon) I stuffed a big suitcase in it, tried unsuccessfully to shove it around to get it in place, then realized I was getting caught on the bolts that face inward on the Lund. I grimaced and figured it would have torn huge holes in the casing but it was barely punctured! The expandable top is great although I can't imagine ever not wanting it to be expanded. The integrated straps are smart although the buckles seemed a bit chinsy. They held just fine, but I might replace them with belts that have ratchets on them and strap it around the entire bag to the carrier. We'll see - after 1000 miles with 3 little ones we might hold off on that next trip for a bit...

We sometimes take long weekend trips in our pickup truck when we need the 4 wheel drive or want to transport big items to our family around the county. For 2 travelers there is enough room inside the pickup for luggage etc but with 3 it is really really cramped. Now we put the luggage and large items in the Rola bag in the pickup box right behind the cab where it is almost invisible. The straps tie to the hold-down rings in the truck box securely.

I was skeptical buying a cheap soft rooftop bag like this one, but after reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance. I am not much of a rooftop-cargo carrier myself, but had to carry a lot of things from VA to IL and back. That's almost 650 miles one way, with official highway speeds of 70 miles/hr. (Needless to say, I did a little over that).
This bag was pretty easy to place and secure on the roof, could carry an unbelievable amount of cargo, and held up extremely well throughout the trip. I did encounter a couple of hours of pouring rain, and upon arriving home, was surprised to find the contents dry!
If you are the occassional cargo carrier, look no further. This is a great bag, and will do as good as any other $200 bag.

bought this cargo bag about 3 weeks ago to move from Chicago to Miami. Checked all the other competitors available online and decided for this one because of positive reviews. When I got it, first thing I noticed was that the box was pretty small which made me concerned that I had bought a useless little bag. Once out of the box, the bag unfolds into a very nice sizeable one.
Best use for not very heavy packages (otherwise you'll dent the roof) and bcf w sharp edges - they may put a hole in the bag.
PROS: It's thick enough not to tear while you're filling it - definitely waterproof (got several areas of rainpour on my way to FL and stuff inside was 100% dry when opened it) - no issues with the zipper (some other bags had poor reviews for this reason)
CONS: They could've done it a little longer as your car's roof can hold a larger size bag (have a 2008 Explorer). Otherwise great product

My wife and I purchased this product for a trip of 500 miles across Texas to go on the existing roof rack of our Toyota FJ Cruiser. It is advertised to fit most racks and it fit ours perfectly. I think we had more than 15 cubic feet of luggage, dog food, and bedding stuffed into it as we were also bringing our two huge dogs (no, they weren't in the carrier!). Loading was easy and the zippers worked fine. The only problem we had was adjusting the straps. It took forever to take them up the first time we tied it down, but on the return trip it went much easier. The strap configuration seems awkward, but possibly can be adjusted before loading, which I'll try next time.

On several reviews of similar products wind noise was mentioned, like it was to be expected, but we noticed NO noise even when driving 80mph through west Texas. The ties never loosened and the load was just as secure when we arrived as when we started. But the best thing about this product is that it REALLY IS WATERPROOF. We drove through 100 miles of pouring Gulf Coast rain on the trip home, the kind where cars on the interstate are driving 40mph with their flashers on and waiting under overpasses for it to slack up. I just knew that everything was going to be soaked when we got home. I was amazed to find that NOTHING got wet - not even damp. The design of the zipper compartment(with flaps closed by velcro) worked perfectly. We were very pleased considering that some of the similar carriers cost alot more than this one.

I selected the Valley 90590 Deluxe Hitch Mounted Basket Cargo Carrier for two reasons: (First) I liked the 60" width compared to most others that were between 48 and 56 inches. This will allow for hauling my Rear Tine Tiller in the summer and other long items. Along with the width was the high 6" railing that will contain almost everything I would place or tie down onto the carrier. (Second) the price...I couldn't built any cheaper ($99.95 + Free Delivery) are you kidding me! The quality is great for the price. All the welds are nice and the paint (pretty sure its powder coated) should hold up well. I'll add some extra reflectors and maybe some miniature running a stoplamps to dress it out...Ok maybe not...but it would look pretty cool!

Assembly was like butter...if you cant thread together about a 10 bolts...uhhhh then learn how ... or just go to U-Haul and buy a cheezy one for like 3 times as much!

Installation: It weighs about 50+ pounds....and well, you gotta have some strength to put this puppy into the receiver. For those that might this is a heavy one..think again, it's about the lightest steel (60" wide) carrier you can get. If it's too heavy, then find something like and old milk create to prop up the back end and then lift the tougne end up and slide it into the hitch. This way you're only lifting a portion of the overall weight. The fit will always be a little loose so you may want use a locking bolt that pulls the tongue against the side of the receiver hole so the load doesn't bang back and forth.

I also picked up the cargo net for like $12 + (free shipping) just in case I have some loose stuff in the carrier.

Overall, a great Cargo Carrier for the price.

I'll be enjoying mine!

I own a Jeep Wrangler. If you know anything about Wranglers, you would know that the trunk in a wrangler is just big enough to hold a pair of socks...if you fold them carefully.

I bought the Valley Deluxe Carrier about 9 camping trips ago and I couldn't be happier! The unit works like a charm. Unlike the last hitch carrier I had, this one has a nice "rise" feature built into it. This is very handy when going up or down steep driveways and roads. I also found that the "rise" feature helps keep your stuff cleaner in rainy/muddy conditions because it puts your items higher off of the ground and away from the tires. I have loaded it to the max and it works flawlessly.

The tall sides are a nice feature that set this unit apart from those of lesser quality.

If you buy this (or any brand) of carrier, be sure to get a nice set of 3 or 4 ratcheting straps to hold your gear in place. Ratcheting straps also hold my kids in place very well as I found that they always seemed to be able to wiggle out of the bungee cords.

The general idea of a soft cargo bag that straps to your car's roof is pretty simple, and it should not be rocket science to make one that works. Unfortunately, the Highland Kar Pak does not fit the definition of a reliable product. It looks great in the pictures and you can read the gushing reviews here, but in the real world I found this product to be defective and lacking in customer support.

I purchased the Highland Kar Pak specifically to move across the country, from Massachusetts to Arizona. After doing some research into cargo carriers, I decided to invest a modest sum in a product that I would likely need once a year at most. Boy am I glad I paid a modest sum because this thing lasted barely one trip. I notice that the price is now half what I paid for it and it is worth not one cent more.

Some reviewers complained about leakage, so I made sure to put all my stuff in plastic bags before loading, and that turned out to be fortuitous. In west Texas I went through some incredible rainstorms. The circular strap attachments tore during the trip, perhaps because I had over-tightened the straps, exposing the mesh undernetting and allowing in water.

When I got to my destination, fortunately my stuff was dry but only because I had waterproofed it, no thanks to the Kar Pak. I emailed the company's customer service dept to inquire as to warranty coverage and whether the pak could be repaired, but received no response. I consider the design to be defective; they should have bonded the straps more thoroughly to the bag to prevent that kind of damage. The average $10 backpack you can buy at any local store is better designed than this. Let the buyer beware.

What can I say, it worked very well for our 11-hour trip. We drove through rain with no problems, and we were able to fit quite a bit of stuff inside it. We had it completely full on the trip home: the front of the carrier hung over the front carrier rack rail on our rav4 and made some flapping noise for most of the trip, but that wasn't that big of a deal once we realized it wasn't going to pop off. I did secure it with a few extra ratchet straps though. In retrospect we should have probably gotten the smaller model.

Worked great, cheap price, I'd recommend it.

I bought this car topper after reading various reviews and have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. I have a Subaru Legacy wagon with sliding cross bars so the attaching issue was not a problem and in fact was a bonus. I was able to slide the cross bars into perfect position once it was filled to help with stability. In other reviews some have mentioned the "cheap straps" that come included and at first I was hesitant to only trust those straps, but once I attached them they were great. This is because the cross bars that they attach to on my Subaru are flat and wide so the tie-downs fit snug and pulled tight with ease. Also note that this only unzips on 2 sides, but that's good when you put the side that doesn't zip facing the front of the car, ensuring further weatherproofing because a zipper isn't facing incoming rain. The zippers are thick and zip easily and are protected by a thick overlaying flap of material. The capacity is cavernous and we easily fit our beach supplies, stroller, beach chairs, coolers and other items. On the way back there was still enough room to cram in our dirty laundry bags! Out of paranoia I used another crossing strap over the top of the unit as an insurance policy because it was the first time we used it, but the straps held tight and I probably didn't need it. We hit some huge thunderstorms with gale force winds and even hail on the way and this topper held up to the abuse with no problem. One review mentions that they would like for it to remain square like the picture, so if you put your squarish items in the corners (cooler, etc) like I did it retains that shape just fine and makes a good use of the space. Another review mentioned reduced gas mileage, so if you put your roundish items in the front of the unit and pull the tiedowns tight it could help with that as well. After the trip I have it folded neatly and it takes up very little space in storage unlike hard-top carriers. I give it 5 stars with no hesitation.

I bought this for a trip my wife was taking to Yellowstone this spring. It is big, and held our stroller, some luggage, and still had room for misc. stuff. Beware, there is no rigidity to it, and you have to stuff it like a garbage bag.

The biggest problem was the quality. When my wife got back from her trip we found the carrier was shredded, and thread bare in many places. Everything in the carrier was wet.

I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone who drives over 30mph.

You must purchase fit kits for specific cars to make these feet fit. Be very careful of Thule Fit Kits. At least one of them does not fit. I bought the 2171 fit kit for my 2006 Honda Civic. So, try and find a review of the specific kit you want to buy before you buy it. Do NOT buy the 2171 kit expecting it to fit a 2006 Honda Civic. IT DOES NOT FIT.

Be warned that if you have a 2004-2007 style Toyota Prius, this is a nightmare to install. There are multiple steps that simply are impossible to perform without improvising. Unless you are extremely handy or can have this professionally installed, I would avoid this for a Prius. I did finally get mine successfully installed, but it took 3 days and lots of problem solving when the steps in the instructions were either unclear or physically impossible. What a nightmare.

Update: it's one season later, and I thought it might be easier to re-install than it was to initially install. Wrong. Still a nightmare. I contacted Thule Support for help, and their response was to send me a picture of a 2010 Prius with one installed to prove that it can be done. Not too helpful. The skis went in the hatchback for the first trip up this season.

Had to struggle a little bit to put it on my car (Honda Accord 2005, 4dr, LX).

While the front side installed without much fight, the back side there was some struggle. With the help of a friend we were able to mount the whole rack system in 2 hours. However, before that I had spent 2 hours by myself and gave up. It fits too tight to the car, which is required and good. However, during the installation I felt there was no leeway in the spacing of rubber pads or the base (even a few millimeters). This means everything needs to be in right spots before you start to tighten the screws; otherwise one or other thing will not align later on and you will have to start again.
ex: if you tighten one of the 4 bases first thinking you will adjust the other end, it might not work; or probably later on the locks won't align.

I would recommend a 2 person installation rather than installing alone.

In the end, however the Aluminium bars look good on the car compared to the square or round coated bars.

To carry our touring kayaks, we purchased the Thule Aero system for our Prius, because it was significanly cheaper than the Yakima. To work properly, one needs to purchase the correct Fit Kit for the specific vehicle; this Fit Kit is attached to the foot with a plastic-handled bolt. The metal parts in the bolt handles bent during installation, and the cheap rivet holding one of the handles to its bolt sheared in two. There are plastic tabs in the handles that are supposed to fit into a slot on the Fit Kit parts, but 3 out of 4 tabs snapped off. Fortunately, the locks still manage to hold the handles onto the feet. The supplied measurements didn't work for our Prius, and we had to improvise.

Another disadvantage is that the aerodynamic bars need to be parallel with the ground, which doesn't happen if the vehicle's roof is curved (again, think Prius or VW bug.) This doesn't seem like an issue until the accessories are added to the bars, and they wind up tilted and not parallel front-to-rear. Since this results in only a single point of contact on the boat hull, this puts undue strain on the kayaks as well as the fittings holding the attachments to the bar. In this case, a round bar would work perfectly, as one could rotate the accessories until they're parallel and horizontal, supporting the boat across the entire pad. Due to the poor contact with the cradles, the boats are not secure while in the rack, and easily wobble 12" side-to-side. Plus, the amount of pressure needed on the straps to minimally hold the boat in the cradles deforms the hull. Bow/Stern tiedowns are crucial to avoid highway fly-aways.

We've got a Yakima rack on our pickup truck, and it works like a charm. I regret not purchasing a Yakima rack system for the Prius instead of Thule.

If you have a flat-roof vehicle, like a station wagon or SUV, the Thule Aero system would probably work very well for you. Curved roof, think round bars instead.

Ordered the Thule Fit Kit for my 2000 Mercedes E430 Sport. Had a little trouble getting the kit installed w/ the Thule RB47 Rapid Aero Aluminum Roof Rack Load Bars and Thule 400XTR Aero Rapid Roof Rack Foot Pack, it was a bit of a struggle getting the screws locked in, since I was performing the install directly on the car roof. Once I took all the pieces off, connected the fit kit to the load bars and fit kit off of the car and then loaded all the pieces together it worked. I need to buy the Thule skirt so that it blocks out the wind noise while driving. While driving there are no issues - at around 75-80mph I had no issues.

Thule products are of very good quality and this is no exception. It works as advertised. The only slight issue I had is that the straps that wrap around the existing rack are seemingly not long enough to wrap around thicker roof rack bars (like my Pathfinder). I was able to get it to work however by sliding the cross bar out of the attaching feet, extending the straps as far as they would possibly go, installing the feet and then sliding the cross bar back through. Also, without any roof carrier attached, the bars do cause some wind noise at higher speeds.

This product is straight forward easy to install as advertised. My roof rails are foolishly body colored rather than something more wear forgiving. The soft rubber mounts allow for tight installation and full removal with no marks left or paint abrasion.
The weight gives you confidence that it'll take the load. This sucker is solid.
If I had one gripe it would be that the gear for tightening/loosening requires too many turns.
If I needed a second set, I would not hesitate to buy another set.

I have a Toyota Sienna Minivan with a Factory roof rack. The roof rack far enough away from the rear of the van that when I stand up the kayak on the back of the van and lean it at a 45 degree angle, the Kayak is a good 3 feet away from the rack. The only way to load my Kayak on to the roof rack is if I were to slide the kayak on the rear roof edge of the car and use that as a fulcrum.

The problem with sliding a 50 pound 12 foot long Kayak on the edge of the roof is that it will destroy the paint. So you will need to cover the paint with something so that there is not contact with the Car roof and the Kayak. It has to have a low coefficient of friction so that it will not scratch the underside of the kayak. It also must be able to stay in place as you slide the kayak. So the top part must be super smooth for the bottom of the kayak, and the underside must be extremely grippy that it will not slide off the roof, with the kayak. I tried the following:

1. Small Rug - I was going to use it, but I could see how, although it may help slide the Kayak, it will scratch the paint of my car.
2. Towel - A kayakers best friend. Towels have so many uses in roof loading kayaks. It will protect your paint, if it doesnt slide off. I have had an experience when it did slide off and my kayak came craching to the ground. It was a good thing I had rubber mats all over the ground in case it happened. That was when I decided to buy this Thule Water Slide.

This is all you need to do to use the Water Slide.

1. Attach or place the Water Slide on the back of your car as seen in the picture of the product.
2. Put a carpet or rubber mat on the ground behind your car.
3. Put your Kayak on the carpet or mat on the ground behind you car so that it is parallel to your car.
4. Lift up the nose of your kayak and lean it against the back of your car, reating on the Thule Water slide.
5. Go to the rear of your Kayak and just slide it onto your roof rack.

I purchased the Hully Rollers to take the place of a rear kayak saddle. I was having difficulty putting my wooden kayak on to my van. I thought that the Hully Rollers would make it easier to load. I didn't find that the effort was that much less using the Hully Rollers. The saddles worked as well as the rollers if I put a carpet over the back of the van and on to the saddles. I have to be more careful with the Hully Rollers so I don't run off them and drop the boat. Bought it two weeks ago for a vacation. Carried two Trek hybrids for six hours on side roads and Interstate, plus ferry trips. Strong enough to hold the bikes solidly; slight flexing of the molded ABS plastic rack was not a problem, even though it caused us to wonder at first. I recommend you fasten the front tires and pedal cranks with rubber cords, to prevent unwanted spinning motion (these are not included). VERY EASY and FAST to install and remove, and the rack folds up into a very small space, only about 18" x 5" x 15". Well worth the price; only paid slightly more than a hundred at a local bike shop.

If you want your bike to be secure and stable on the back of your car, and do it all with a little style, then this is the perfect bike rack available.

The rack is collapsible by rotating the arms around the center cylinder, the feet pivot to adjust to any surface, and the straps hold the bike in place as securely and safely as possible. It is made of solid material and you feel how sturdy it is when holding it in your hands.

My lock came with the lock cylinder, but I ended up switching it out anyway so that all of the Thule locks on my car would have the same key.

This lock is good for one thing- making sure your hitch accessory (in my case a bike rack) does not come off of your car. $30-$40 is alot to pay up front, but the piece of mind is worth it. I don't mind that I had to buy it separately, some people won't use it and that's ok.

I do like the fact that the bolt that comes with it is long enough for 2' or 1.25' hitches and secures both equally well. I'll be able to use this lock for anything, not just a Thule accessory, so that makes the money well spent.

This product did not get a full five stars because I think $30-$40 is too much money for a lock when one can get a sturdy combination lock of similar construction (but no good for hitch securing) for $10 shipped or less in a local hardware store.

First off, if you have a Thule hitch mounted rack, this is pretty much what you have to buy if you want a locking hitch pin. This is because the rack is threaded so that you cannot use any other type of locking pin.

The Pros: It does lock. It is threaded like the rack so it reduces vibration.

The Cons: It costs twice what similar items cost. The key has to be used to lock the end onto the pin - my previous lock actually snapped right on and you needed the key to remove it. There's a lot of exposed pin between the hitch receiver and the lock. Not sure why they would find this necessary since it's going on a maximum 2 1/2 inch wide receiver. This gives a thief a small, exposed bolt to cut through. My previous lock (made for Sportworks T2) was almost flush against the receiver, making it very difficult to remove without the key.

I had to "upgrade" my lock when I replaced my Sportworks T2 with the Thule T2 after someone backed into my car. Thule bought the Sportworks design and made a number of changes, all for the worse as far as I can tell. One of these changes was to make sure you have to buy their accessories such as locks, meaning I not only had to replace the rack, I had to replace the lock as well.

This is basically a small bolt with threads at one end, and a simple lock that goes on the other. Similar items can be found for under $20 just about anywhere. It is apparently a very expensive process to press that THULE logo into the plastic cap.

So basically, if you have a Thule rack and want to lock it on, this is your choice. It works but could certainly be better and less expensive.

PHILLIPS
I bought this pin along with my Thule Roadway rack. I used the regular bolt that came with the rack while this pin was on the way. Either one will work fine to keep the rack mounted. It is just that this pin has some anti-theft with the key'ed cylinder and would keep the pin in place if the threads ever loosened. I suggest using anti-seize on the threads and shooting some lubrication into the lock cylinder area. Although I feel that $40 is a bit steep.

Thule bicycle carriers have a threaded hole that can use either a hex-head bolt (provided with the rack) or one of these secure bolts to attach the bike rack to the hitch receiver.

The Snug-Tite Lock has a cover that locks over the head of a stainless steel bolt to keep a thief from using a wrench to steal the carrier. It looks like it will stop casual theft by requiring a thief to cut off the cover before unscrewing the bolt.

It seems a bit pricy for a lock, but the bike carrier is an expensive enough item to make some precautions worthwhile. I was able to save a few dollars on both the rack and the Snug-Tite lock by shopping around.

After a few weeks of use, I found that the Snug-Tite Lock's bolt had backed out slightly from vibration, letting the rack become slightly loose in the hitch receiver. Application of a mild thread locking compound (Blue Loc-Tight or similar) solved the problem.

Great so far, I have had it for a few months and use it at least once a week. But I have only taken short trips, nothing over 30 miles or an hour drive time.

Plus:

No assembly required.

Easy to set up. After the initial setup and finding the optimal position for the bikes it now only takes me about 5 minutes to put the rack on the trunk and place the bikes on the rack. Takes even less time to take off rack and folds flat so can be stored in trunk, while not in use.

Compact but very sturdy, and good foam padding protects trunks well enough. No damage so far.

The straps that hold the bikes in place can be rotated to accommodate different bikes. Very versatile. The rack has held 2 medium sized full suspension bikes with no problems at all.

Best price I could find for a new 2-bike trunk rack that has individual straps for bikes.

Minus:

Only has four straps that attaches to trunks vs other racks that have six straps. (But it seems that the four straps work well enough. I am assuming that more straps would make it more sturdy and stable)

Overall:

Great product for a great price, it does what it is meant to do, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Tips:
Before putting the rack on your trunk, make sure the area on the trunk that the rack will be resting on is clean of dirt and other particles to prevent scratches due to friction.

After setting up the rack on your trunk rubberband the excess strap. This will keep it from flying around and will make it easier to setup and take off the rack.

Put a couple of old socks over the pedal of the first bike to keep the pedal from scratching your car's finish.

This bike rack is my second Allen. The first one I bought is great - use it on my spare tire of my Jeep. This one, 102S, the fittment guide was a little off.... Allen claims this bike rack fits cars with spoilers (top part of rack fits over spoiler). I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra with a stock spoiler. This rack does not fit over spoiler, but right behind it and below it. I tested it today, but did not drive-test it. I hope it doesn't bounce. Also, what they neglected to tell me; the maximum weight limit of the rack is 70 lbs. Which means, if you have 2 bikes about 40 lbs. each, you can't use this rack. Also, there are 2 bolts on the top of this rack that are loose and appear to need tightening - they hold the top straps to the rack. These bolts cannot be tightened because the thread on the bolt does not go all the way down to the head. Not sure why they are supposed to be loose, but it seems the rack would be a bit more sturdy if these bolts were not so loose. I will be posting a picture soon. FYI - when you put the bike on the rack, on most cars, it will block the third brake light as well as the license plate. Not sure how the police will handle this.

I was looking for an inexpensive two-bike rack that would fit both a Saturn sedan and a VW Beetle. While this item was initially appealing, I wasn't sure if it would work for both, very different vehicles. I first checked the Allen Website, which lists all of their products and which vehicles they fit. However, my Saturn wasn't listed. I emailed the company and they responded quickly with their recommendation. So, 5 stars for Allen customer service! And 5 stars for the bike rack! It is super easy to install and folds up nicely to fit in the trunk. Both bikes fit snugly and securely on the rack. You will drive with confidence knowing your bikes are secured with this product. Highly recommended!

Pros:
- Well made, looks and feels strong
- Fits very well on Hyundai Sonata
- Easy to setup and remove
- Handled one 40-pound mountain bike and a child's bike (~20 lb) very well.

Cons:
- I can't imagine how anyone can fit 3 bikes on this. There is just not enough room. May be if we remove pedals from the bikes.
- Didn't stay intact with two heavy (35 - 40 lb) mountain bikes. Holding clamps kept moving. We had to stop and readjust 3 times during a 30-mile trip.

Recommendation:
If your bikes are lightweight, you will be fine with this product. If you are thinking of carrying 3 heavy moutain bikes, just forget about it. You may be able to fit 3 bikes only if they are in such away that their handles and peddles don't hit each other.

The product is not so bad to warrant a return. However, its weight capacity is not mentioned anywhere and it would be very hard to carry 3 normal bikes. Hence, 3-star rating.

Update: 3/5/2009
It was very windy when we tried to transport two light road bikes and this carrier couldn't handle the second bike! This is unbelievable. We had to stop 2 times on the highway to remount the second bike. The bike just came off the carrier and was dangling by the belt - both the times. It was scary. In all that commotion, I lost the (expensive) blinker from the other bike! It appears like this rack can handle just one bike under adverse conditions and can carry two in ideal conditions.

This overall is a great bike rack but I did notice when I placed more than one bike on the rack the bottom two straps tend to work loose. But it still seemed really secure even with the two bottom straps loose. I have just made it a habit that whenever I stop I check the straps. I have not noticed this problem with only one bike on it. I would totally recommend this product, for the price it is great! This rack is ready to go out of the box and really easy to install by yourself. I have a Honda Civic coupe and it fits great. I have not tried to place 3 bikes on this rack but i do see how it would be a tight fit.

I bought this for my 94 Toyota Camry LE. It is quite sturdy, and the rubberized clasps are very thick. I find that strapping my road bike works wonderfully on any of the three bike holders. However, my mountain bike has a more aggressive frame, and cannot slide to the bike holders nearest to the trunk without a lot of hassle. Also, this rack cannot hold children's bikes well due to their smaller frame size not spanning the two rack arms. However, driving 500 miles or so to get to some of my biking locations, I've never had a problem with bikes falling off the rack or swaying, or anything else. It is a great rack for the price--I bought mine for around $150. I wouldn't pay any more for it though, considering there are better racks out there for more money. But for the price, you can't go wrong.

I too did my homework as for reviews comparing this bicycle rack with others offered on Amazon. I chose this one partially because of the reviews plus it was available directly through Amazon and the price was reasonable. I found that this rack was extremely well made and easy to attach to my 1996 Honda Accord. I could also tell that it would be able to fit many cars because of the way it was designed. I also liked this one because of the fact it has two additional hold down straps which attach to the sides of the rear trunk. There is a weak link in this product though. It is the quality of the tightening fasteners on the hold down straps. I loaded up three 26" bikes on the rack, which was a bit of a challenge, but did work well once you get the hang of it. I re-tightened all the straps as instructed in the directions before driving off and felt confident I did a good job. My vacation trip was only 150 miles away and I just happened to stop after about 50 miles to check how the bikes were doing. I found that the straps had loosened up and the rack was not secure. I tightened the straps up again and rechecked in another 50 miles to find the same result. If I hadn't stopped from time to time to check, I wonder what the result would have been. So, because the rack is built so well and is easy enough to use, I gave it three stars rather than less because I feel this rack would work great for short trips. However for longer trips, I definitely would not recommend this rack. It's really a shame they didn't come up with a more efficient strap fastener. I am returning this rack today and will try another brand with a close eye on the type of strap fastener used. Advice to you....no matter what brand you purchase, for long trips be sure to double check how secure your rack is from time to time....Hope this helps.

Works great for holding the bike on the rack. But it can be a pain... literally! Due to the spring tension and the funky retention pin, if you aren't careful you'll get your hand pinched. This is because you have to stretch the bar against the tension and then insert the pin. If you slip it will snap back with a lot of force. If your hand is in the way then... OUCH! The same can happen when removing the bar. This is probably guaranteed to happen to you at least once. Don't worry, you will heal in a day or two. From then on you will pay very close attention and it should not be a problem.

The bar does exactly what it is intended for. However, on the packaging of the bar it specifically says the distance from the seat post to handle bar post needs to be at least 18 inches, no where does it say that on the online write up. This bar is very stout and capable of staying in place. I use it to mount two expensive Treks and feel confident the bikes will stay in place at 70mph on highway. When I picked up my new Treks, the service tech commented on the quality of the bar and asked who makes it, where I got it etc...he was impresssed of it's quality. The rubber end coatings interface well and won't harm bikes' finishes. Both my treks have different frame configurations, the bar adjusted easily.

This is an exceptional kit for an unbeatable price. The best old-school kit you can buy.

Let me start off with some rules to follow as with any other kit. If you see streaks or residue you're doing it wrong.
- Follow the instructions on the bottles
- Park the car in the shade
- do NOT let the products dry on their own (with the exception off the wax)
- Don't rush things, take your time! If you have less than 3 hours available, don't even start
- Don't be greedy, work in small sections at a time
- This will take a lot of elbow grease
- You will some additional (microfiber) towels, if one of them is a watermagnet: perfect
- Also some extra applicators will come in handy if you are planning to use all items

Shampoo and mitt work great, lays a good base for the following steps. Will last for a good amount of washes.

The ScratchX and PlastX are solid products, same goes for the clay ... first time you use the clay, you will be surprised what the clay is still able to get off the paint.

The quick detailer is fantastic and addicting! This bottle will be the first to go, but no regrets. Perfect for use in between full session.

The tire shine is a disappointment. You have to use a LOT and the results were not to my satisfaction, doesn't cover very well and always looks unfishined. Ironically this item has the strongest scent (smells like Blueberry CoolAid). Took a point off for this product.

If you are into old-school car care, this is the kit to buy. No other will come close, certainly not for this price.

RAMOS
I have never bought Meguiar's product before and got this kit to see if they are worth the price. And I'm very happy that I tried their products.

For anyone who is getting serious on detailing their car this is a good starting point, but the following products were the most impressive:

-Scratch X: It does remove small swirls and scratches. I was skeptical, but the result were just amazing. (There is a Scratch X 2.0 now)

-Exterior Quick detailer: Great for keeping it in your trunk for those pesky bird dumps or tree sap. Does the job fast and easy, giving great results. Too bad you need to apply quite a bit when using the clay, so I'm planning on keeping 2 or 3 in stock.

-Microfiber mit: Very well done, soft and with foam inside to make it comfortable when been used. I will probably buy a couple of this too.

The rest of the products are "OK" and they are new versions from Meguiar's now (NXT or 2.0 versions). And, as all starter kits, in the end you will be buying individual and improved versions of the products to get the best results.

It does have negatives: only 1 foam applicator (2 would have been nice as Scratch X and the wax need a couple of these) and the included microfiber towel is rather pathetic as it is very low quality and you need more than 1 to wash you car (specially if you are claying).

RANDELL
I've used Meguiar's products in the past and was always happy with the results. This kit provides pretty much everything you need to get your car to have a showroom look.

Individually, each product is more costly and when you add the washing glove and the wax sponge, you have a superb value. While you can certainly choose not to use certain products and save some money, at the cost of this kit you actually get some items virtually for free.

Now, for the process and results:

1. Wash the car with the car wash and use the wash glove. It is effective in removing grime and even some of the insects that always find a way to crash into the front of your car.

2. Clay the car and take your time as this step can provide a huge payoff on the quality of the overall result. I used the clay on my wife's new Lexus and the results were amazing. The surface felt clean and soft.

3. Use the ScratchX product for scratches and swirls. In certain cases, this product can remove the scratch completely. Just follow the directions and note that you may need multiple applications. In my 2001 Avalon I was able to remove most of the vestige of a large scratch running down the right side of my car around the middle of the doors. The scratch isn't fully gone, but it is effectively masked.

4. Use the Gold Class liquid wax to finish off your hard work. I understand the new ICE liquid wax leaves no milky residue, but if you work with this you will not be disappointed. The end result will be a mirror-like finish which really shows off for dark-colored cars.

I personally used microfiber towels in all the steps of the process. They are lint free and very effective. BTW, the Quick Detailer product is something you will want to keep around. It is almost like a car wash in a bottle. Fortunately, it is available at stores like Wal-Mart for reasonable prices, so you don't need to order it online.

The Interior Quick Detailer also does a fine job. Very neutral and cleans surfaces well. Does not leave any residue. Beats that Armor All product by a mile.

The other products are add-ons that have limited value but can still be useful. The PlastX definitely brings out the shine in the plastic surfaces of the car, but there aren't many of those around. The Endurance High Gloss does not provide a really shiny gloss, but it does last longer than other options. Use a basic (disposable) towel for the tires because they will get heavily stained using the High Gloss product.

thi kit has dusters, a stiff brush for getting into those hard to reach places to loosen up any dirt or dust, terry cloth pads, & several microfiber cloths.

Very good value for the price on Amazon. You can get the same sort of stuff at Autozone or any other car parts store but its expensive. The brushes work well to wipe away dust inside your car and you can use the Microfiber anywhere!

I ordered this in plenty of time to give to my hubby for Christmas; however when I went to wrap it, the box was soaked and fell apart. Called customer service, they were super and shipped another immediately but to my chagrin, the second one was worse than the first. It was so bad, FedEx had wrapped the box in plastic to contain all the leakage. After two tries I gave up, so I can't even say how good or not this product is!

bought this item as a fathers day present and my dad really liked it. He did say that the quality of some of the waxes was not of the highest. However, he did say that the spray bottle stuff was really good. He even uses the bottle for other products, because he like the sprayer nozzle so much! Great gift..

The package was delivered in perfect shape (no leakage) and arrived early. I used all the products except the quick detail (the item you use between washes). My bike was very dirty, especially the wheels. It also had a lot of tree sap on it from being parked under trees.

1) Quick wash spray:

The quick wash spray is amazing. Better than S100. I was so impressed. It got all of the tree sap off all parts and cleaned my wheels, yes, it cleaned my wheels (for avid motorcyclers, that is pretty amazing, particularly without having to sponge clean them at least). The only drawback is that even for my bike, which is a naked bike (less parts to clean), the bottle is only good for two washes. Wash gets an A+, quantity gets a C. If the quick detail (haven't tried yet) works great, then the wash being less in quantity is not as critical.

Metal Polish:

Again, amazing. It is in a quasi powder form so it won't try out and it doesn't mess up the applicator (whatever you choose to use) and cleans as well as polishes. It removed grease, brake dust, whatever might have happened to get on metal parts. It does not scratch or discolor nearby plastic or rubber. Does not leave mirror scratches and hazes quickly for fast application and hand buff.

Plastic Polish:

Also fantastic, although not meant for wind screens (it will leave some light scratches), but for all other plastics, works amazing. Does not hurt stickers or labels.

Paint Polish (normal polish (e.g. for gas tank)):

Works great, hazes quickly, leaves a nice shine. Yet to be tested: How well it holds off dirt until the next quick detail or wash (e.g. how is it protecting my bike).

Leather / vinyl polish: Also works great. For some synthetic fabrics, you'll need to use a cloth with a little water as a final wipe off as it does get into pourous areas. Once on, it works really well. Hope is protects as well as it looks.

Included cloth: AWESOME. I recommend also purchasing the 3-pack of Meguire's micro-fiber clothes. They work very well and come out of the wash in perfect shape. Other said they got soaked too quickly, but I found them to be about right. Great for polishing. The 3-pack is reasonably priced, so if you have to buy 3 a year, no big deal.

OVERALL:

Compared to my S100 kits in the past, everything included is better than its S100 counterparts, except that S100 gives you more of everything (but I'd rather have the good stuff)
